Meet Jeremie Albino, the new Easy Eye Sound signee who has shared stages with Orville Peck, Sierra Farrell, Shovels & Rope, St. Paul & The Broken Bones and JD McPherson, plus recently announced his signing to Dan Auerbach’s revered imprint with his label debut, Our Time In The Sun, out November 1.

Today, Easy Eye Sound released the behind the scenes mini-documentary of Jeremie and Dan creating the record alongside their elite team of Nashville’s finest songwriters: Pat McLaughlin (John Prine, Johnny Cash), Joe Allen (Loretta Lynn, Glen Campbell) and Bobby Wood (Elvis Presley, Dusty Springfield).

You'll hear a bit more about it in the mini-doc, but Jeremie's story didn't begin on stage: it actually began in a farm in rural Ontario. After years slinging veggies at a farmers markets in Toronto, Albino began busking on the city’s streets. The back and forth between him and the fleeting crowds sparked a love of performing, one that he channeled into electrifying live shows — shows that steadily grew from passerby to packed rooms.

As for Auerbach, he  produced this new collection after a chance encounter with Albino’s music online that left him mesmerized: “It was a dream. His voice was amazing. I instantly loved his style and charisma — I didn’t know it could just be so real."

With guidance from Auerbach, Albino honed his rock n’ roll sensibilities into sharp, observant songwriting, defined by clever turns of phrase and the emotional nuance of the stories he’s telling. Between Stax era gospel-funk, Southern psychedelia, and the blues-rock of the 60s lie tales of love gone sour, struggling with the bottle, and a life defined by work.
