Planet Bluegrass, organizers of Rockygrass, Lyons Folks Fest, and the famed Telluride Bluegrass Festival—which has coincided with the summer solstice for 5 decades—are pleased to announce Mabon, a new concert series programmed in conjunction with longtime Planet Bluegrass fan-favorite, Watchhouse. Mabon will take place September 16-18 in Lyons, Colorado, at the Planet Bluegrass Ranch during the Autumn equinox.

Today, Nashville-based trio The Lone Bellow released their new single titled “Gold.” The first new release since their triumphant 2020 album Half Moon Light, “Gold” embodies an unvarnished intensity with a galvanizing look at the real-life impact of the opioid crisis. Recorded with their longtime bassist Jason Pipkin and drummer Julian Dorio, the chorus explodes in a wild collision of bright piano tones, potent beats, and massively stacked guitars.

The Great Blue Heron Music Festival in Sherman, New York, took place once again the first weekend in July. For nearly 30 years, this annual event has drawn thousands of fans from across the U.S. It is a tradition for many young and old, as an event to celebrate music, nature and the spirit of self-expression.

This year, The Heron organizers have expanded on this concept with an extended summer music series, aptly named, “Beyond the Blue.”

Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds have announced their return to the white sand beaches of Mexico for their sixth annual “Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Riviera Maya” event, hosted February 17-19, 2023. The weekend will kick off with a welcome party on Thursday, followed by a three-night run of Dave & Tim playing along the Caribbean shoreline.

Kris Kristofferson will release Live at Gilley’s - Pasadena, TX: September 15th, 1981 on September 2nd via New West Records. The previously unreleased 15-song set was the final date of Kristofferson’s 1981 tour and was recorded at the legendary Pasadena, TX honky tonk most well known for its role in the 1980 film Urban Cowboy. Kristofferson is backed by an incredible live band featuring Stephen Bruton, Billy Swan, Donnie Fritts, Tommy McClure, Glen Clark, and Sammy Creason.

Instrument makers from around New England will be front and center at this year’s Lowell Folk Festival celebrating the art & craft that goes into making the unique sounds that come from the Festival’s world class musical performers.  Known for its eclectic blend of music, food and art, the 35th Anniversary of the Lowell Folk Festival returns in person July 29-31.
