Puerto Rico’s multi-Grammy–nominated musical masters, Plena Libre have consistently been enthralling audiences around the globe over the course of their storied 30-year, 16-album career with their original sound — one that infuses the traditional plena and bomba rhythms of  Puerto Rico with a fresh spring mix of Afro-Caribbean and jazz styles to create groove-laden dance music that honors their deep sense of the unique indigenous musical traditions, while embracing modern trends.

On March 25, 2023 we went to La Crosse, Wisconsin to see Chicago Farmer and the Fieldnotes at the Main for the final show of the 20th anniversary tour, part one.  Or as I like to refer to it, the first quarter tour, Chicago Farmer plans on celebrating 20 years all through 2023.

Southern roots rockers Robert Jon & The Wreck have released an extended live version of “Hey Hey Mama,” a fan favorite that will be featured on their first ever live DVD Live At The Ancienne Belgique, out 4/21 via Joe Bonamassa’s Journeyman Records. “Hey Hey Mama” was initially on the Good Life Pie (2016) album, which featured Kris Butcher on guitar and Dave Pelusi on bass,” recalls frontman Robert Jon Burrison.

The world-famous jazz pianist and bandleader Count Basie helped redefine music several times over and set the preconditions for jazz innovations, rock and roll, and popular American music, and today, a whole new host of colorful talents have mixed with Basie’s legendary sound and influence as part of a brand new album called Late Night Basie.

Just in time for Easter, Grammy-winner Tim O’Brien releases a new bluegrass original, “Little Lamb Little Lamb,” premiering today at The Bluegrass Situation. The song is a taste of what to expect on O’Brien’s upcoming full release, Cup of Sugar, which drops June 16th on Howdy Skies Records. Along with his longtime band, the album features bluegrass legend Del McCoury on a track.

Today, Prestonsburg, Kentucky, native Nicholas Jamerson announces the forthcoming release of Peace Mountain, his sixth studio album, due for release on May 19. The new single “Billy Graham Parkway,” written by Allun Cormier, is available today on all digital streaming platforms.

Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band - Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Edgar Winter, Warren Ham, Hamish Stuart, Gregg Bissonette - have added 4 dates to their upcoming Spring 2023 tour which begins May 19 and concludes June 17. The new dates are: May 23 Long Beach, CA Terrace Theater; May 30 Prescott Valley, AZ Findlay Toyota Center; June 4 Woodinville, WA Saint Michelle Winery and June 10 Jacksonville, OR at the Britt Festival.
