South American and United States-based collective LADAMA release an urgent declaration to women across the globe with its electrifying sophomore studio album, OYE MUJER (Six Degrees Records, Release Date: July 10, 2020). I was climbing into bed when I heard the sound of my pipes screaming. The rush of water deafening the late night quiet. This time I knew exactly what it was. The woman in the silver BMW, minus plates was using my driveway faucet to shower again. The first time she did this I ran about my house trying to figure out if I had left the water on or if a pipe burst. When I finally realized it was coming from the shared driveway, I thought my neighbor was using the spigot after a mid-day surf. It wasn’t my neighbor.

Brooklyn based soulful pop artist Mima Good has just released “Granddaddy”, the third single off her upcoming album. The singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist has been working on an exploratory, genre-bending collection of songs for the past year in her home studio. From a closet vocal booth covered in red velvet, Mima playfully serenades her microphone with youthful woes from a troubled world.

On August 28, 2020, Grammy-winning blues icon Bobby Rush will release Rawer Than Raw, a stripped-down, acoustic tribute to the rich blues history of Mississippi featuring songs from a handful of blues greats from his adopted home state.
