Activate Infinity is the second album from The Bad Plus since the remarkable pianist Orrin Evans joined the group in 2018. The album was recorded at Brooklyn Recording in New York City in May 2019. It was produced by The Bad Plus and engineered and mixed by Andy Taub. Activate Infinity will be released on CD and digital October 25. November 15 will see its release on vinyl.

Few iconic bands who have been a group for fifty years truly play with the vigor and focus of their heyday. Not that there’s anything erroneous regarding nostalgia, but for the seminal group King Crimson there’s historically been little looking back. Denying the moniker of progressive rock (reasonably so, as they predate the subgenre) the group’s core founding member Robert Fripp (guitars, keyboards, mellotron) generally led a charge towards new material every tour and an evolving methodology on arrangements.
Keller Williams has announced the release of his 25th studio album, SPEED, which is due out on November 22nd. The new record features Williams with his Bluegrass outfit, Keller & The Keels, as they reinterpret popular songs by celebrated artists including The Doors, Kacey Musgraves, Fiona Apple, Weezer and more.

On the heels of winning the 2019 Blues Music Award for Best Acoustic Album this past May at The Annual Blues Foundation Awards in Memphis, Bruce Katz releases his solo acoustic piano album, Solo Ride on August 16, 2019 through American Showplace Music. This marks his tenth album to date. The album was produced by Bruce with label owner Ben Elliott. Katz’s manager and agent Legare Robertson co-produced it. Solo Ride is Katz’s only solo release after thirty years of composing, touring and playing.

Charles Bradley had a lot on his mind when he recorded “Lonely as You Are” and “Lucifer” during the final days of the Obama presidency. A stomach cancer diagnosis in the Fall of 2016 forced him off the road at the peak of his career. Weakened by months of chemotherapy, facing a life-threatening surgery and confronting his own mortality in a moment of political upheaval and uncertainty, Bradley was filled with ideas and energy when he stepped into a Queens home recording studio and spontaneously created “Lonely as You Are” and “Lucifer.”

Statewide, California has 129,972 homeless people (2018), the largest street population of any state (source: Kevin Fagan, San Francisco Chronicle, May 16, 2019).
The Borderland Music and Arts Festival, taking place at Knox Farm State Park in East Aurora, NY, on September 21st and 22nd has announced the daily line-up and the availability of single day tickets. A limited amount of single day festival tickets are available for Saturday and Sunday beginning Friday, June 21st at 9 am.
