We Dream Dawn and Taarka are slated to play The Caribou Room Friday April 14th 2017. Long time friends and collaborators, the bands are sure to offer an evening steeped in both deep musical kinship and new explorations. Colorado drummer Mark Levy (Phil Lesh and Friends, Circles Around the Sun, Bonfire Dub) along with Enion Pelta-Tiller (Taarka) will be augmenting the sonic breadth of WE DREAM DAWN and Taarka will have plenty of new musical morsels to share.

Ian Anderson, once and always front man of the legendary Jethro Tull is embarking on two major projects: a new album in which he and a British string quartet created of reworked Tull classics, as well as some major U.S. touring of a program dubbed, “Jethro Tull, performed by Ian Anderson.” Anderson took time recently to speak to Grateful Web via telephone.

GW: To help set the scene, from where are you speaking to me today? 

IA: My office in Southwest England.

Never-before-issued recording of the legendary Bill Evans trio featuring Eddie Gomez on bass and Jack DeJohnette on drums captured live at the NRU (Netherlands Radio Union) Studios in Hilversum on June 22, 1968. This is only the third known recording in existence of this particular trio, who only performed together as a trio for a 6-month period in 1968, and was originally recorded and broadcast on the radio program Jazz in Actie by Dutch producer Joop de Roo.

The eleventh studio release by the Western Canadian native is also a milestone, marking the first recording made at Stagger’s home studio in southern Alberta. The legend and the band live on, still rocking their powerful, moving, and energizing original music for the fans. A jam band with a unique style and presence, the Wu combine strong, free flowing improv and vocal harmonies, with finely crafted songs for all tastes. Oh, and their fans are famously friendly.
