MerleFest, presented by Window World and slated for April 28-May 1, 2016, is proud to announce the music festival’s initial lineup. The four-day event, an annual homecoming of musicians and music fans, will once again take place on the campus of Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, North Carolina.

With Dead & Company getting rave reviews across the Northeast, Bob Weir continued a relatively-new tradition of playing a signed guitar on stage to help boost a charity auction. 

Last night at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA, Weir played “Peggy-O” with a D’Angelico guitar signed by all the members of Dead & Company. The one-of-a-kind EX-SS guitar, which also features the Dead & Company logo on its pick guard, is being auctioned on the tour to benefit more than a half-dozen charities. Currently, the high bid sits at $11,500.

Everyone Orchestra is excited about their upcoming run of shows in the NorthEast States in mid-November in Baltimore, Brooklyn, Ardmore (Near Philly), and Washington, DC! Conducted by Matt Butler, these performances will feature Steve Kimock (guitar), John Morgan Kimock (drums), Todd Stoops (Raq - keys, vocals), Cris Jacobs (The Bridge - guitar, vocals), Ashish Vyas (Thievery Corporation - bass). Among other milestones it’s crossing this week, Dark Star Orchestra is finally old enough to vote. The band enters into its 18^th year of performing on 11/11/15, the anniversary of their first performance in 1997; while later this same week, the band will perform its 2500^th show at the House of Blues in Boston, MA on November 18.

Rising Son International announces today the release of author and folksinger Arlo Guthrie's fifth children's book, Monsters. In his latest book for children, Guthrie recounts the tale of seemingly real monsters lurking in and around his bedroom. His descriptive verse is wonderfully captured by longtime friend and illustrator, Kathy Garren (her third collaboration with Guthrie).

Revolutionary pop culture icon YOKO ONO is set to release Yes, I'm A Witch Too, the sequel to her critically acclaimed 2007 collaboration record Yes, I'm A Witch (Astralwerks), on February 19th via Manimal Group.

Gem & Jam Festival is thrilled to announce the debut of the Soulection Stage on Saturday, February 13th, during the 10th annual festival, featuring this heavy hitter lineup from the Soulection roster: SANGO, ESTA, JOE KAY, INSIGHTFUL and THE WHOOLIGAN. This exciting addition to the Gem & Jam lineup will be one of the first official Soulection curated stages at a music festival in the United States.

Dopapod guitarist Rob Compa has put together a new project named Borg Party to perform two debut shows towards the end of December in Buffalo and Rochester, NY.  In addition to Compa, the group consists of Michelangelo Carubba of Turkuaz on drums, Mike Gantzer of Aqueous on guitar, James Searl of Giant Panda Guerrilla Dub Squad on bass, & Willy O’Riley of The Niche on keys.
