As previously announced, G Fest organizers are continuing plans for the inaugural event in honor of the late Okie from Muskogee, Merle Haggard. The festival, which features some of the biggest names in Country, Rock and Americana, along with the best up-and-coming and local talent, will take place as scheduled June 16-18 in Muskogee, Okla. Additionally, GRAMMY-award winning singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves will perform at the festival to celebrate one of her heroes.

Jamey Johnson, Blackberry Smoke, Corey Smith, Love and Theft, Rising Appalachia, The Marcus King Band, Zach Nugent’s Dead Set featuring Melvin Seals (Melvin Seals & JGB), Russ Lawton (Trey Anastasio Band, Soule Monde), Tony Markellis (Trey Anastasio Band), Vinnie Amico (moe.), and Colin Lenox (Dead Set) have been added to the first annual Deep Roots Mountain Revival Festival

Liver Down The River has followed up their debut EP with a full length album titled Life You Love. The album consists of 13 all original songs that really showcase not just their incredible musical ability, but also their strength in songwriting. The band’s goal was to replicate the magic they bring to their live performances and capture that in a studio setting, and Liver Down The River did just that.

Throughout its career, the electronic rock band Future Rock has pioneered and perfected a synthesis of fist-pumping rock with sleek dance club grooves for an infectious aesthetic that has garnered favorable comparisons to Daft Punk, DFA, and The Chemical Brothers.

Meeting on the Mountain LIVE is a collaborative live broadcast experience, set to kick off its second season of shows. Grant Farm is the house band with Tyler Grant hosting. The rousing live one-hour broadcast includes performances as well as interviews with each act and gives Grant Farm the opportunity to collaborate with some of their favorite musicians.

MerleFest, presented by Window World, has wrapped up its 29th year. Early estimates show that from its start on Thursday, April 28, to its close on Sunday, May 1, aggregate participation over the festival’s four days was approximately 74,500 participants. MerleFest, held on the campus of Wilkes Community College, is the primary fundraiser for the WCC Endowment Corporation, funding scholarships, capital projects and other educational needs.

The first night of this three-night Dark Star Orchestra run at the Boulder Theater was powerful, exciting, and fun. They played the first night of Red Rocks 1978, which was on August 30th, and it featured the first time ever played “’I Need a Miracle,” “Stagger Lee,” and “If I Had the World to Give.” Many of the patrons of the Boulder Theater were extremely happy as the buzz went around the venue of which show it was.

Nikki Glaspie has been glued to a drum kit for most of her life. With a career that’s seen her back Beyoncé, initiate the beat in Dumpstaphunk, and now heading her own band, The Nth Power, she’s seen all corners of the industry while banging away behind bands of all sizes. Nikki recently spoke with The Grateful Web’s John Schumm to discuss The Nth Power’s tour, their new album, “Abundance,” and their mission to spread love through music.
