Railroad Earth bassist Andrew Altman spent some time in the studio with Tom Hamilton (American Babies, JRAD, Phil Lesh) last year and the resulting five song EP is now available in most online outlets. Andrew has contributed a couple songs to the RRE catalog in the past but this is his first collection of all original material with Tom Hamilton handling production duties and performing on the record as well. 

The Cedric Burnside Project (CBP) returns to Young Avenue Deli on Valentine’s Day for a concert that is sure to be a sweet treat for music lovers across the Mid-South. This show will be the band’s first time back in Memphis since August 2014 and as always, their progressive style of Hill Country Blues and Rock will be a crowd pleaser in the “Home of the Blues.”

The Honeycutters, an Asheville, NC-based original country roots band, is set to release their third studio album, Me Oh My, on April 21, 2015 with Organic Records®.

Rock legends John Oates and Bob Weir brought the house down at Oates’ February 8 stop in Mill Valley, CA, when Weir made a guest appearance on guitar.

Oates enthused, “Jamming with Grateful Dead legend Bob Weir at the super-cool Sweetwater was the perfect way to end my West Coast tour.”

The Wood Brothers brought their traveling, musical tent show to Eugene’s McDonald Theatre (Jan. 21) and held a genuine revival meeting, awakening the yearning spirits of the devout, as well as the newly converted.

Howling Wolves Present has announced the lineup for the eighth annual Purple Hatter's Ball. Taking place at the famed Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) in Live Oak, Florida May 8 - 10, 2015, the three-day music festival benefits The Rachel Morningstar Foundation (a non-profit 501c3 organization) in honor of longtime SOSMP friend and music festival lover Rachel Morningstar Hoffman.

Later this weekend, on Sun. Feb. 8, Dark Star Orchestra’s performance at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO will be offered via free live stream from Yahoo Screens. Yahoo Screen in collaboration with Live Nation are providing the global live stream for everyone to check out the performance at no charge.

There is a slow pace and a sparse population in the Adirondack Park. We have approximately the same amount of year round residents in 2015 as we did in 1900. Having a music venue that is truly close to home is a luxury I no longer have. A fair concession for living here. Hopefully, this clarifies why I consider the Higher Ground in South Burlington, despite the 90 minutes it takes me to arrive from my doorstep, my home field.

New York's Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad kick off their Steady Tour tonight in Fort Collins, CO at Aggie Theatre. The eight-show run concludes in Steamboat Springs on February 14. This is the quintet's first visit to Colorado in over two years.
