The one-day Just Like Heaven festival returned to Pasadena on Saturday, May 18th, for its fifth year. With so many acts overlapping, choosing which bands to watch was a challenge. The day began with DJs spinning tunes from the 00s on both stages. The timeline of the music seemed to be the one fact tying the diverse lineup together. Prioritizing becomes particularly challenging at a festival like Los Angeles’ Just Like Heaven, which features indie bands whose most acclaimed albums emerged in the early 2000s.

After roaring back into Columbus, Ohio in 2023, Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival 2024 welcomed a massive crowd of 138,000 music fans, retaining its reputation as the Pinnacle of Rock Festivals in America. The third annual Mill Valley Music Festival on May 11-12 combined elements of a delightfully eclectic daytime concert with a town fair, providing two days of entertainment for all ages in this quintessential Marin County locale. Headliners Greensky Bluegrass, Fleet Foxes, and many other performers thrilled adults and children alike, and a host of crafts and activities across the aptly named Friends Field provided hours of fun for those who preferred to keep the music in the background.
