Dark Star Orchestra has been confirmed as part of the initial lineup for the 2008 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. The 7th annual four-day camping and music festival will be held on June 12-15 on the same 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee, 60 miles south of Nashville. The final Bonnaroo 2008 lineup will total over 100 bands and over 20 comedians performing on 13 stages over four days.

I can't decide if it's better that I wait so long after the shows to turn in my reviews or not. This time was a bit excessive, and I won't bore you with my personal issues.

With the festival's initial lineup announcement still a few weeks away, the 10,000 Lakes Festival (10KLF) and OurStage announce the fourth annual Cosmic Break Tour.  Through OurStage.com, this year's 10KLF Cosmic Break Tour will present musicians nationwide with the opportunity to perform in front of thousands of enthusiastic festival-goers at the 6th annual 10,000 Lakes Festival, held July 23-26 in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Amanda Bell, who was covering Vegoose on behalf of the Grateful Web, just sent her pictures to us.  She really did a great job with both band and crowd shots.  Amanda's review of the weekend will be coming soon, but in the interim feel free to browse through some more Vegoose pictures. Also, Amanda got a few inteviews from the weekend, so check back soon for those as we

Grateful Web had both Amanda Bell and Forrest Dudek covering Vegoose this year.  Check back for their reviews soon.  In the mean time, some of their pictures are beginning to roll in.  We'll post more pictures when they come in.  Thanks to Vegoose publicity for a lovely weekend. Cheers!

Thanks,

Now in its sixth year, the Langerado Music Festival has established its place as the unofficial kickoff to music festival season.  For the sixth annual Langerado Music Festival, organizers are taking it to the next level and moving the event to the expansive Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation.  Since the inaugural event in 2003, Langerado has grown enormously from 3,500 in attendance at Fort Lauderdale Stadium, to 2007's hugely successful event at Markham Park, where turnout reached 15,000 people per day.

Saturday morning is one of the toughest to motivate for, especially when it is hotter than the previous two days, but with the lineup that was ahead of us, one finds the motivation to get to Centeroo early. After all, this day was a special day in history. It was the 40th Anniversary of the Monterey Pop Festival. What better way to celebrate the first rock n' roll festival, than to enjoy the festivities of the greatest rock n' roll festival.

Hey kids! Sorry this review is so late, but life always gets in the way once you return from a fest huh? Anyway, I moved to another state so that was a bit disruptive, then I got almost entirely finished with this little piece here, and the house got struck by lightning! And wouldn't it just figure that the two things that got smoked were some files I had open on another computer (including this review) and my beloved stereo! Heartbreak all around. I digress. Hope everyone had a great summer and are finding some cool musical events for the upcoming lovely fall weather.
