The rally will be held at Colorado Veterans Memorial Park from 12pm until 2pm and will feature, testimonials from refugees affected by the potential changes, words from faith leaders, elected officials and others, and collective songs led by members of Flobots.
Others who will be speaking or involved in the rally are Bibi Nafisah Arman whose was supposed to be reunited with her son from Afghanistan, Syrian-American Obeid Kaifo from the Shish Kabob Grill, international spoken word champion Amal Kassir, Nadeen Ibrahim from Colorado Muslim Connection and student on Auraria’s campus, Iman Jedoh of Meet the Middle East, Sudanese refugee Karak Mayik Denyok, and more.

UPDATE: There have been threats received this morning at The Mango House, a building on East Colfax that houses organizations & non-profits that work directly with refugees. Notes in the parking lot and stairwell read “Were gonna blow up all of you refugees.” The notes were thought to be left between 8:10 & 8:50am this morning, following this morning’s collective sign holding actions on street corners. Police have responded to the scene and there seems to be no immediate threat.
There will be people at the rally who will respond to these threats and offer the public thoughts on how to help make these refugee and communities feel safe.
