Florida's king of sacred steel, Roosevelt Collier, will bring his revolving superjam to the West Coast for the first time, announcing the California Get Down Nov. 5-7 in Northern California. With Collier front and center on pedal steel, the all-star lineup features bassist Norwood Fisher (Fishbone), guitarist Eric McFadden (Parliament Funkadelic Allstars) and drummer Duane Trucks (Widespread Panic) performing a free-flowing gumbo of electrifying grooves. The three-day run kicks off Thursday, Nov. 5 in Nevada City, CA at the Crazy Horse, followed by San Francisco, CA Friday, Nov. 6 at the Boom Boom Room with special guests Will Blades and Ronkat (P-Funk Allstars), before closing out the weekend Saturday, Nov. 7 in Chico, CA at Lost on Main.

Known for his legendary “jambushes” at festivals across the country, Collier has hosted a series Get Downs in Colorado, North Carolina and Florida over the past year. Pulling from his deep pool of musical brethren, Collier's superjams feature a rotating cast of talent, including members of String Cheese Incident, the Motet, Umphrey's McGee, Lettuce, Big Gigantic, Leftover Salmon and more.

After the California tour, Collier returns to Boulder, CO Thursday, Nov. 19 to host his third Colorado Get Down at the Fox Theatre, starring Bill Nershi (String Cheese Incident), Dominic Lalli and Jeremy Salken (Big Gigantic), Joel Cummins (Umphrey's McGee) and Matt Lapham (Shak Nasti).

About Roosevelt Collier:

Soft-spoken by nature, South Florida-bred Roosevelt Collier does his hollering on the pedal steel guitar. Raised in the "sacred steel" tradition of the House of God gospel church, Roosevelt built his reputation alongside his uncles and cousins in The Lee Boys, known for their spirited, soul-shaking live performances. Seated front and center, "The Dr." leaves an indelible mark on listeners, flooring audiences with his lightning-fast slide work. A master of the "jambush" Roosevelt has logged hair-raising performances with some of live music's most prestigious acts, from the Allman Brothers to Del McCoury, Widespread Panic to Yonder Mountain String Band, Snarky Puppy to Karl Denson's Tiny Universe. In 2015 he stepped out with legendary bassist Oteil Burbridge to form the Oteil & Roosevelt Band, whose gospel funk brand of Southern soul stunned audiences at festival like Summercamp, Delfest, Peach Festival and Magnolia Festival. Whether hosting superjams, guesting with national acts on tour or as an Artist at Large at festivals,  no matter what the context, when Roosevelt Collier takes the stage, the ear-to-ear grins can’t help but be contagious.
