Today’s release “Soul Force” featuring powerhouse Susan Tedeschi, underscores his renewed and ongoing creative drive. This is the second single released from Dion’s upcoming new album of all original penned tracks, Girl Friends, showcasing powerful female collaborators. The first single “An American Hero” with Carlene Carter dropped back in October and paved the way for this new collection of songs.

Announced today, a Caribbean concert vacation dubbed “Dead Ahead Festival”. This all-inclusive vacation experience will be hosted at Moon Palace Resort in Riviera Cancún, Mexico January 12-15, 2024. The event will celebrate the Grateful Dead songbook featuring two nights of curated collaborations themed “Dead Ahead” with Bobby Weir, Mickey Hart, Jeff Chimenti, Oteil Burbridge, Don Was & Jay Lane featuring Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Rick Mitarotonda, Margo Price and very special guest Sturgill Simpson.
On Thursday, December 8th, The Smithsonian Institution presented the James Smithson Bicentennial Medal to Susan Tedeschi during a special ceremony at the National Museum of American History in Washington DC. Medals were also presented to Dave Grohl, Gloria and Emilio Estefan.
Tedeschi received the award for “her embodiment of the American Experience through music; for imbuing the American soundtrack with songs that transcend from grief to joy; for staying true to her art form and for using her voice to share stories of hope in advocating for a better world.”
In terms of pure musicianship - the ability to play or sing well, both technically and expressively - the individual members of the Tedeschi Trucks Band are each gifted, seasoned and professional. Some, most obviously Derek Trucks himself, ascend to a level of artistry that transcends mere training and practice. They are accomplished, but more importantly, they are unique, and born to be so.
The musical chemistry between Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi is undeniable, bubbling over with an unparalleled creativity, passion and an innate ability to shake an audience to their core. The husband/wife duo first came together as Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi’s Soul Stew Revival in 2007, before forming what’s now known as the Tedeschi Trucks Band in 2010.
Following a very challenging yet creative year, Tedeschi Trucks Band announces the first batch of their 2022 winter itinerary with a series of multiple-night residencies in Washington D.C. (6), Nashville, TN (4), Chicago, IL (4) and a two night engagement in New Orleans, LA (see dates below). Led by renowned guitarist Derek Trucks and singer/guitarist Susan Tedeschi, these will feature the full, reunited 12-piece band including new drummer Isaac Eady.

An electrifying documentary jam-packed with music spotlighting the celebrated “Mad Dogs & Englishmen,” Joe Cocker’s short-lived tour featuring a mammoth thirty-piece band, told through the lens of the reunion of 12 remaining band members, 45 years later, to perform with Grammy Award-winning Tedeschi Trucks at the Lockn’ Festival.
Over the weekend, the Tedeschi Trucks Band made their annual return to Red Rocks Amphitheatre and once again gave the sold-out crowd four solid sets of soulful magic and hair-raising guitar work over two nights.
