Nothing’s like Zero. Forty years ago, guitarist Steve Kimock and drummer Greg Anton went into a studio and recorded what was to become the inception of the repertoire for the band Zero. As one of the innovators of improvisational jam band music, Zeroi s a Bay Area musical institution. The band has played more than 1,300 concerts across the country, being joined onstage by such luminaries as Jerry Garcia, John Cipollina, Derek Trucks, Martin Fierro, Nicky Hopkins, and John Kahn.

Zero has announced their new album Naught Again will have its High Fidelity Double-Vinyl LP release on September 2, 2022 via Omnivore Recordings. Released on CD and digital earlier this year, the record consists of performances newly mixed by Emmy-nominated producer/engineer Brian Risner from the original multi-track tapes recorded by Dan Healy (Grateful Dead) in 1992 at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.

It is a super-high-fidelity recording of previously unreleased tracks from an epic three-night-run at the Great American Music Hall in 1992.
Zero was formed in the early 1980s by guitarist Steve Kimock and drummer Greg Anton after playing with Keith & Donna Godchaux’s Heart Of Gold Band. Various San Francisco Bay and international artists have played with Zero, including Nicky Hopkins (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who) Pete Sears (Jefferson Starship), John Cipollina (Quicksilver Messenger Service), John Kahn (Jerry Garcia Band), and Vince Welnick (The Tubes, Grateful Dead).
