Putumayo is pleased to announce the release of Acoustic America and companion children’s album American Playground on June 18th, 2013. In time for fireflies, the 4th of July and summer road trips, these two latest albums from the label’s American roots music series offer an acoustic taste of our country’s rich musical heritage. This year, Putumayo celebrates their two-decades of presenting music from around the world.
In its continuing mission to promote the Bakersfield country legacy of Buck Owens and the Buckaroos featuring Don Rich, Omnivore Recordings will issue two collections that spotlight the town’s most storied musicians: Don Rich’s That Fiddlin’ Man from 1971, and the all-instrumental The Buckaroos Play Buck and Merle, which marries the 1965 LP The Buck Owens Songbook and 1971’s The Songs of Merle Haggard.
Legend DJ Muggs continues to keep it rap game - his volatile new video "Wikid" (featuring Chuck D) premiered yesterday on Rolling Stone. Of the video DJ Muggs says, "We harnessed the energy of Public Enemy and Cypress Hill with futuristic sounds and the aggression and vocal delivery with one of the greatest MCs ever, Mr. Chuck D."
Fresh on the heels of their critically acclaimed Hurricane Season In Brooklyn album, drummer and studio don Amon returns to his Analog Players Society project with a 3 track excavation entitled CKY to JFK Vol. 1.
