On November 12th, the constantly producing journeyman of the jam scene - Keller Williams – released his newest album, entitled FUNK.

We are a community of audiophiles who understand the intrinsic value of live music to a point that we have been known to base large chunks of our free time around chasing the perfect show. And yet, how many bands that we see as the cream of the jamband scene were exposed to us through live recordings? Sure, we all had bootlegs in college, but I am sure that most of you started in high school with ‘Skeletons in The Closet’ from Columbia House just like I did.

Ever wondered why the Grateful Dead once added a modern classical composer to the ranks? Or how they pioneered the “double live” rock album concept? Or what a final studio album by the Dead would have been like?These questions and more are answered in the book The Grateful Dead FAQ (Backbeat Books, Nov. 2013, $24.99). The Mimi Fishman Foundation has launched its 2013 Holiday Auction.  The auction features Phish Summer Tour posters signed by all band members.  Of special note is the multiple night runs include matching numbered posters auctioned off as single sets.  Additionally, the auction includes unique New Years packages donated from The String Cheese Incident, Yonder Mountain String Band, and Umphrey’s McGee.The auction will remain open until Thursday, December 5 and can be found at

Head for the Hills will celebrate New Year’s Eve 2013 in Fort Collins, CO at the Aggie Theatre on December 31st with special guests The Congress. This will be the first time the band has performed in their hometown on NYE, expect an evening for the books! H4TH Fan Club Ticketing goes on sale Wednesday October 9th at 10:00 (MDT).
