For the third year running, jam-grass veterans The String Cheese Incident set up their New Year’s Eve residency at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado for three nights of songs and celebration in their own backyard. The rear of the seated bowl was sparse Monday, but a creeping night one buzz helped melt conversations about the negative temperatures outside.

The 14th Annual Northwest String Summit (NWSS) returns to Horning's Hideout (North Plains, OR) with the finest acoustic pickers and standout electric bands from July 16 - 19, 2015. Located just 20 miles outside of Portland, OR, Horning's Hideout stands as one of the most scenic festival sites in the country; NWSS is the only music offering this year taking place at Horning's Hideout.

Richard Loren worked as Jerry Garcia’s personal manager and is a former agent and manager of the Grateful Dead. In his music business career, he also represented a wide variety of musical artists and other headline bands, most notably—The Doors and Jefferson Airplane.
 

Bill Thompson, manager of Jefferson Airplane and subsequently the spinoffs Jefferson Starship, Hot Tuna and Starship, died of a heart attack yesterday, Jan. 12, in Mill Valley, Calif. Thompson was 70. "One of the more colorful managers in rock history, and a beloved figure within the Bay Area music scene, Thompson guided the various bands through both great successes and years-long personal and legal entanglements." Relix

Two of the most buzzed about bands on the scene, Kung Fu and Twiddle, are joining forces for a twelve night co-headlining run kicking off April 1 in Buffalo, NY. The bands will take turns closing each night but to keep things interesting, it will not be announced in advance. Fans will have to arrive early to find out who takes the stage first.
