Alex Woodard is a singer-songwriter who writes songs about letters and weaves their backstories into a book and album package called FOR THE SENDER. Most of these letters that had inspired the songs were about the extraordinary beauty and growth that people were creating post-trauma.

Acclaimed NY vocalist Eva Salina's new album takes on the legacy of the legendary Serbian Romani (gypsy) singer Šaban Bajramović. He was larger than life and known for his gritty love songs of mad women and tragic tales. Eva Salina's tribute to Bajramović is two-parts celebration and one-part subversion. To make the album she drew from New York's jazz and global scenes, including members of Slavic Soul Party!, Kultur Shock, and The Klezmatics (Frank London).

Americana/Country artist Jordan DePaul is making 2016 his year. While finishing up his third EP since moving to Nashville from Youngstown, OH in 2013, he signed a global distribution deal with ONErpm (ONE Revolution People's Music).

After spending its first six years at a summer camp in Hancock, NY, Catskill Chill Music Festival has announced the new location and dates for the 2016 event. Organizers have reported that the 7th annual Catskill Chill will be held at a remote private summer camp in Lakewood, PA. Paying homage to their original site, the new venue has been dubbed “New Minglewood”.

Yesterday, Electric Forest (EF) revealed the initial artist lineup for the 6th annual music and camping festival taking place June 23-26, 2016 in Rothbury, Michigan. Excitement for Electric Forest has never been greater with the festival selling out earlier than ever, a mere two weeks after tickets went on sale. In line with EF’s strong community spirit, the festival surprised the EF community by inviting them to announce the 2016 lineup first.

While jazz flautist Herbie Mann is often remembered as a pop-jazz player, he was actually a pioneer in popularizing world music and even prog-rock with recordings released on his own Embryo imprint (as part of Atlantic Records). And in the late ‘60s, he was fronting one of the most progressive and electrifying bands in the world: guitarist Sonny Sharrock, Miroslav Vitous on electric & upright bass, saxophonist Steve Marcus, drummer Bruno Carr, and vibraphonist Roy Ayers.
