NY-based artist The Bones of J.R. Jones announced today his new EP A Celebration will release on March 19th. Inspired by the American Southwest, it was written on his honeymoon during trips to Tucson, Bisbee, Joshua Tree, and other desert destinations. The six-song collection is everything its title promises: a celebration of the thrill of getting lost in something new, whether it’s a landscape, a sound, a perspective, or all of the above.

On April 23rd, guitar legend Steve Cropper will release ‘Fire It Up,’ which he’s calling his first proper solo album since 1969, after decades of stardom in soul, blues, and rock and roll.

In these past couple of months, democracy was challenged, but voters prevailed. HeadCount is committed to keeping the voting and election process fair and trustworthy. We applaud the elected officials — from both parties — who honored the process laid out in our Constitution and spoke unequivocally about respecting the results of the election. Now, it’s time to address our election system itself. A bill is making its way through Congress to make voting more accessible, make processes more consistent, and address money in politics.

“If we don’t hold on, we’re lost,” says singer, songwriter, and revered guitarist John Smith, speaking on the meaning behind his song “Hold On”. The tune embodies a thread of hopefulness in a blanket of bad news; a thread that runs throughout his new full-length album, The Fray. Out March 26th, The Fray finds Smith writing his sixth album, grounded from his usually-busy touring schedule, and reeling from a cascade of even worse news in his personal life; wading through it all with a defiant positivity.
