Today, Steven Bernstein's Millennial Territory Orchestra releases Good Time Music, the second album in the venerated arranger and trumpeter's four volume Community Music series. Joined by special guest vocalist Catherine Russell, the 6-track collection celebrates the joyous spirit present in the blues with jubilant interpretations of songs by Percy Mayfield, Allen Toussaint, Bessie Smith, Professor Longhair, Earl King and WC Handy.

On January 11th, Tsunami Books in Eugene will publish Merry Prankster Ken Babbs’ memoir Cronies, a tale of his time with the LSD avatar and literary genius Ken Kesey, his young friends the Grateful Dead, and the Merry Prankster’s trip across America in the bus Furthur, as immortalized by Tom Wolfe’s The Electric Koolaid Acid Test.

Due to hazardous weather conditions in Nashville and out of an abundance of caution for fans, crew and performers, the Béla Fleck show originally scheduled for tonight at Ryman Auditorium has been rescheduled to tomorrow, Saturday, January 8th at 8 pm. Widespread Panic has postponed their Beacon Theatre run for the second time based on complications from COVID-19. The new dates are July 21-25, 2022, and were originally scheduled for January 13-17, 2022. Tickets for the rescheduled dates are available here.

Sorry to report Dead and Company have now cancelled their upcoming shows in Mexico.  With the recent news John Mayer has contracted Covid-19 and Billy Kreutzmann staying home to rest up it seemed almost inevitable the shows might not happen.

Now we'll standby until we get some updates on how John and Billy are doing and hopefully some big summer tour news in the coming weeks.
