Lauded vocalist Lizz Wright encapsulates an illustrious 20-year career as one of the great modern American singers with the studio album, Shadow, on her label Blues & Greens Records (with licensing/distribution through Lightyear Entertainment/Virgin Music), that was released to critical acclaim on April 12, 2024. Today (Friday, October 4), Wright releases the official music video for her single "Your Love" featuring acclaimed vocalist/bassist Meshell Ndegeocello and star harpist Brandee Younger. A link to view the full video for "Your Love" is HERE, and you can stream the song/full album HERE.

The video was recorded at Atlanta, Georgia's Rock Steady dance club. Wright used to dance long nights to house music with some of the same cast members (seen here) in her 20s. House music was steeped in the clubs and culture of Atlanta in the 1990s. Gathered with friends and couples pulsating to the pocket of Deantoni Parks' drum and Meshell Ndegeocello's nuanced bass groove, Wright sings of joy in a celebratory space.

"Your Love" is a moment to honor family and ancestors with moving references to the faith of Wright's upbringing and her relationship with nature. The video is filmed by Chicago's Angelo Margentina and produced by Chicago visionary Monica Haslip with wardrobe by Wright's longtime friend and stylist Agape Pennywell (World of Agape).

Special guest Angelique Kidjo appears alongside Wright on the song "Sparrow," on Shadow. Renowned for her singular writing style, Wright also beautifully weaves into her recordings unforgettable renditions of songs by artists she admires. Wright penned "Your Love" with her drummer Jack Deboe and Matt Cusson. The song was arranged by Shadow's producer and longtime collaborator/music director Chris Bruce (Seal, Bettye LaVette, Sheryl Crow).

For Your Consideration for the first round of GRAMMY Award voting, Shadow was released by Blues & Greens Records on April 12, 2024. Blues & Greens Records (LINK) is Wright's innovative label venture designed to position artists to build sustainable and wholesome careers. Blues & Greens Records seeks to create a healthy ecosystem for artists as it uplifts and centralizes humanity in the music business with wellness offerings and sound business practices at the forefront.

About Lizz Wright:
Acclaimed vocalist and songwriter Lizz Wright sings a soaring reflection of the cultural fabric of America. She weaves her songs and stories beneath the script of history, transcending social divides with an offering of love and deep humanity. Her music accepts the beauty of reality while creating an experience of belonging for the listener. Wright's songs embody a tradition that allows us to feel at home.

Wright culls inspiration from her Southern upbringing in Georgia where she was the musical director of a small church in which her father was the pastor. The call and response singing with the church congregation was her first brush with music. Soon she would traverse the Great American Songbook on her path to becoming a beloved international treasure.

At the age of 22, Wright first made a name for herself nationally as a vocalist with a touring concert tribute to Billie Holiday. At 23, she signed with Verve Records for the release of Salt, which topped Billboard's contemporary jazz charts. She went on to record for Universal Music Group and released the albums Dreaming Wide Awake (2005), The Orchard (2008), and Fellowship (2010). On Concord, Wright released Freedom & Surrender (2016) -- featuring the single "Lean In," which landed on President Obama's Summer 2016 playlist -- and Grace (2017). Wright's (2022) release of Holding Space (a live recording of a concert in Berlin at the Columbia Theater) was her debut live album on Blues and Greens Records.
