Acclaimed Australian guitarist, singer/songwriter, and producer Hamish Anderson is set to release his electrifying new single “Stir Crazy” on August 9th, 2024. With a sound reminiscent of early 80s ZZ Top, this hard-hitting track is sure to be an instant classic.
“It’s got a big riff and the power chords put me in the headspace of an AC/DC, Joan Jett, ZZ Top kind of groove. Lyrically, it’s about being trapped and trying not to completely lose control,” explains Anderson. The single’s driving energy and powerful chords evoke the raw intensity of rock legends, making it a perfect anthem for those moments when life feels like it's spiraling out of control.

“Stir Crazy” is the third single from Anderson’s highly anticipated album ELECTRIC, which is scheduled for release on October 11, 2024. This upcoming album marks Anderson’s third full-length release and his first in five years. A true “love letter to the electric guitar,” ELECTRIC showcases Anderson’s exceptional talent and passion for blues rock, with modernized sounds and forward-thinking arrangements that bring a fresh energy to the genre.
The album was primarily recorded live with Anderson’s touring band, featuring bassist Lauren Stockner and drummer Pete Marin. The album also includes guest appearances by Jessy Green on strings (Foo Fighters) and Jerry Borge on keys (Jonathan Wilson, Ziggy Marley), with Anderson sharing production duties alongside David Davis (The War On Drugs, Lauren Ruth Ward, Miguel).
The result is a high-energy collection of eleven original songs and one cover that capture the raw, energetic vibe of ’70s blues rock while pushing the boundaries with contemporary sounds and innovative arrangements.
Earlier this week, the video for Anderson’s previous single, “You’re Mine,” premiered on Atwood Magazine, who praised it as “a seductive and smoldering outpouring of love... [it] expresses intimacy, vulnerability, and raw passion through a stunning, sonically charged lens.” This track, along with “Stir Crazy,” sets the stage for what is sure to be a landmark album in Anderson’s career.
