Nothing’s like Zero. Forty years ago, guitarist Steve Kimock and drummer Greg Anton went into a studio and recorded what was to become the inception of the repertoire for the band Zero. As one of the innovators of improvisational jam band music, Zeroi s a Bay Area musical institution. The band has played more than 1,300 concerts across the country, being joined onstage by such luminaries as Jerry Garcia, John Cipollina, Derek Trucks, Martin Fierro, Nicky Hopkins, and John Kahn. Robert Hunter wrote the lyrics for the band’s vocal tunes.

On the evenings of November 8th and 9th, Steve Kimock, considered one of the country’s greatest guitarists, will lead two anniversary shows along with Greg Anton (drums), Pete Sears (bass), Banana (guitar), Hadi Al- Saadoon (trumpet), Spencer Burrows (keys), and some special surprise guests!

“I’ve seen a lot of bands, and no band can put the whammy on a crowd like Zero,” said Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter

Zero performances are a musical journey ranging from sublime ballads to, as Hunter put it, “blow the roof off rock & roll.” Simply stated, Zero shows are pure magic!

A portion of the proceeds from these shows will benefit the Camp Winnarainbow: Grace & Joy Scholarship Fund. Founded by Mr. & Mrs. Wavy Gravy, Camp Winnarainbow is a joyful and magical sleep-away camp where kids from all backgrounds develop community, self-confidence, and artistry through circus and performing arts. The Grace & Joy Scholarship Fund provides an opportunity for economically challenged kids to attend camp. Visit campwinnarainbow.org for more info.
