Combsy – the solo project of Chris Combs, guitarist of Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey – will hit the road this May and June in support of their self-titled debut LP (Horton Records) which was released in late 2017.  The band won’t stray too far from their hometown of Tulsa with shows in Nashville, Little Rock, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Montrose CO, Denver and Santa Fe. The New Orleans shows will feature Dan Oestreicher (sax) from Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave and drummer Josh Raymer from Reed Mathis & Electric Beethoven and JFJO will be the featured player during the Colorado dates.

And the press raves!

“4 out of 5 Stars” – All About Jazz

“It’s strongly recommended for those who like the Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, but this fuller impression of Combs’ offbeat musical personality is a treat all unto itself.” –      Something Else Reviews

"The album is a multifaceted creation, with lovely soothing melodies punctuated by alien electronic noise and free jazz-like freakout solos, with acoustic and electronic horns serving often as the primary voices and Combs’ guitar providing subtle colorings and textures, all densely layered into nine compelling tracks.” – Tulsa World
