We're excited to officially welcome aboard Scott Tipping on acoustic guitar and Drew Littell on drums as the newest members of Cornmeal. Both Scott and Drew have performed a handful of shows with the band over the last year and have proved to be the perfect fit for the future of Cornmeal.Scott Tipping has been an integral part of the Chicago music scene for more than 20 years. His diverse stylistic approach to both rhythm and lead guitar as well as his deep Americana roots and influences have been a welcome addition to the band. He has been a featured performer with outstanding bands and artists such as Backyard Tire Fire, Peter Himmelman, The Might Blue Kings and more. Scott has also shared the stage with amazing groups such as Los Lobos, ZZ Top, Buddy Guy just to name a few. When he isn’t performing with Cornmeal he'll be dawning the stage with Magic Box (and long time music collaborator Ed Anderson).Drew Littell is a drummer/percussionist from Chicago with an eclectic array of influences and style to match. Drew brings a unique rhythmic perspective to Cornmeal through a fusion of mindful grooving and forays into polyrhythm. His drumming is also heavily informed by tribal and folkloric rhythmic patterns from around the globe as well as innovative drummers such as Elvin Jones, Clyde and Jabo, Zigaboo Modeliste, John Bonham and Billy Martin to name a few. Drew studied Jazz Performance at the Chicago College for Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. He is an active drummer, percussionist, and teacher around Chicagoland. You can also catch Drew playing with his original band Genome as well as on percussion with This Must Be The Band (Talking Heads Tribute) and AfroZep.We have just begun interviewing and auditioning new fiddlers and are having a blast with rehearsals. We have a lot of great candidates coming in over the next few months and are excited for the potential of the future of Cornmeal.
