Cory Henry released his anticipated solo album ‘Something To Say’ (STS). As his first body of work that he solely produced, the 11-song project is a reflection of his impressive musical mind and multi-instrumentalist mastery. The project is “right on time with this message to remind us all to not forget what we’re living and fighting for” (Essence).

STS is an artistic reflection of the current social and emotional climate we find ourselves in. On the focus track “No Guns,” Henry paints a picture of unity and hopes for a society rooted in understanding rather than petty differences. “I don’t need to punish the lawless, everyone’s got to bear their crosses,” Henry sings over his organ groove before launching into the song’s mantra: “I got no guns to stick by.”

Earlier this month Henry released “Don’t Forget”, his third single from the album, which has already seen early spins support from WFUV - New York, WXPN - Philadelphia, KCRW - Los Angeles, KUTX - Austin and many more. Last week he teamed up with platinum-selling R&B artist Marc E. Bassy on the track “Free Like Me,” which Out Now Magazine called “a deeply personal track with a positive message at its heart.” Henry also sat down with music critic Charlie Harding in an episode of Switched on Pop that explores Henry’s songwriting process and how the tumultuous political climate played a role in the album’s conception.
