On Sunday, March 2, 2025, Crucial Reggae Sundays returns for its highly anticipated 5th season of free reggae music at the historic Bandshell in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Running most Sundays from March through mid-November, the series is family-friendly and offers an unforgettable afternoon of live performances and DJ sets, all at no cost to attendees.
In celebration of Women’s History Month, the March 2025 lineup features an all-female roster of talented guest artists from the Bay Area and beyond. On March 2, reggae fans can enjoy a special live performance by Kaylan Arnold. The excitement continues with Ay Que Linda (Words of Divine/KSQD) on March 9, DJ Sep (Dub Mission) on March 16, Outlaw Yoko (Champion Sundays) on March 23, and a debut appearance by DJ Cilla (Auxygen) on March 30.
Produced by Illuminate LIVE and the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, Crucial Reggae Sundays is hosted by residents Irie Dole (Jah Warrior Shelter Hi-Fi), Guidance (Infinite Guidance Sound/Nice Up Radio), and DJ Sep (Dub Mission). The weekly shows also welcome special guest performers throughout the season, including reggae luminaries Prezident Brown on April 20 and Mighty Mystic on June 1. The series runs from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm and maintains its tradition of providing a vibrant, free, and family-friendly event for music lovers of all ages.
Crucial Reggae Sundays is part of Illuminate’s free music series in the park, which will present more than 125 concerts in 2025 on most Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday afternoons, plus select Saturdays, through mid-November. Over the past four years, Illuminate LIVE has transformed the 125-year-old Bandshell into a hub of musical diversity and legendary performances, hosting more than 600 free shows and attracting nearly 1 million attendees to the Music Concourse.
