Today, the Portland, Oregon based quintet Fruition are streaming their new studio album, Labor of Love, ahead of the official release this Friday on Randm Records. Check it out HERE.
 
Early praise for Labor of Love is coming in strong. The title track and first single from the album was premiered earlier this month by Paste Magazine, with Sound & Silence Magazine stating, “The title track is a great indication of what to expect from the album, Labor of Love; mature, bold and captivating sound with strong production and lyrical content."
 
At radio, the single has received great support with over 40 stations at Triple A and Americana on board, including Sirius Jam On, WCNR/Charlottesville, WAPS/Akron, KTBG/Kansas City, KOPB/Portland, WUIN/Wilmington, WTYD/Williamsburg and more.
 
In celebration of their album release, Fruition headline two hometown shows at The Wonder Ballroom this Friday, April 22^nd and Saturday, April 23^rd, as well as Thursday night at the Tractor Tavern in Seattle before continuing on their 40+ date North American tour in support of Labor of Love. Next week finds the band headlining theaters and clubs in California. In May the tour stops in the Southwest, Midwest and South. Look for the band at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre on May 6 with the Infamous Stringdusters and JJ Grey & MOFRO, and at festival plays including Delfest, Summer Camp, the newly unveiled Vertex Festival, and many others still to be announced. Self-produced by the band and engineered by Justin Phelps (Amanda Palmer, Jolie Holland, Chuck Prophet), Labor of Love displays the band’s growth from a rootsy, string-centric outfit to a full-fledged rock band with an easy but powerful grasp of soul, blues and British Invasion era pop.
 
Following the release of 2013’s Just One of Them Nights and extensive touring, Labor of Love came to life over the course of a year-long process of exploring new sonic terrain. Influenced by everything from Phil Spector-esque pop to dreamy psychedelia to Motown inspired soul, Fruition plugged in and emerged with a wholly unified album that subtly imparts the sense of being swept along on a journey. With Fruition’s striking three-part vocal harmonies still very much at the center, and contributions from friends Anders Beck of Greensky Bluegrass, Jeremy Garrett of The Infamous Stringdusters and Steve Swatkins of Allen Stone, Labor of Love shows the complete force of their newly expanded and electrified sound.
