Masterful multi-instrumentalist G. Love has released a new song titled “Soul-B-Que”, the latest offering from his forthcoming Keb’ Mo’-produced album The Juice (out January 17 via Philadelphonic/Thirty Tigers). The upbeat new track finds G. Love (aka Garrett Dutton) teaming up with legendary pedal steel guitar player Roosevelt Collier to paint a picture of a rowdy celebration with family and friends. It was featured by Billboard, who proclaimed “G. Love lights a funky fire on ‘Soul-B-Que’.”

“We have a lot of bonfires and BBQues at the crib with family and friends, plenty of kids and dogs, good food and all night jams,” says G. Love. “I wanted to capture these epic nights in a song and also make a song that would be an invitation to the audience at the top of the show – "Come on into my House.” Just come on down and get you some jams and feel good times for your head and your heart.”
On his new album, G. Love worked with four-time Grammy award winner Keb’ Mo’ and a slew of special guests to craft a unique sound that blends elements of blues, jazz, rock, funk and soul with hip-hop grooves and electronic beats. The Juice showcases a wildly diverse set of influences and features lyrics that strike a balance between the personal and political. These 10 new songs illustrate both an appreciation for the simple joys in life (hear “Go Crazy” feat. Keb’ Mo’) and an obligation to speak out for justice and equality (listen to “The Juice” feat. Marcus King).
G. Love remains an unmatched artistic force who consistently delivers intoxicating, vibrant music that blurs the line between genre. With a career spanning more than two decades, he has received widespread acclaim from press including NPR Music, The New York Times, Paste Magazine, Relix, The Wall Street Journal and more. In recent years, G. Love has pushed beyond the boundaries of music, launching everything from his own special hot sauce to a beer collaboration and a curated music festival.
G. Love will be touring in 2020 in support of the new release. See a list of tour dates below, or visit: philadelphonic.com/tour
