Denver jam lovers, mark your calendars for February 14–15, 2025, because Panic Stricken is bringing two nights of Widespread Panic magic to Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom. Hailing from Austin, TX, this collective of seasoned musicians—led by founder and front man RG—has earned a reputation for delivering the closest thing to a genuine Widespread Panic experience, all while carving out its own uniquely inspired improvisational jams.
Since their first show at the Thirsty Planet Brewery back in 2015, Panic Stricken has kept the Widespread Panic spirit alive for fans across the nation. But it was an unexpected performance in August of 2021 that truly catapulted them into the national spotlight. When Widespread Panic had to cancel their Austin shows at the last minute, Panic Stricken jumped in to fill the void, playing to a sold-out crowd of 1,000 ecstatic fans. Ever since, they’ve hit the road hard, honing their psychedelic grooves and tight-knit jams at festivals and renowned venues far and wide.
The band’s Sit ‘n’ Ski run promises two distinctly exciting evenings. On Friday (2/14), they’ll be joined by Dead Floyd—a group that explores the music of the Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd, guaranteeing a night of expansive, mind-bending rock fusion. Then on Saturday (2/15), the stage gets even more star-studded with the Tunes 4 Barrett All-Stars (featuring Brennan Kammerer, Eric Martinez, Kory Montgomery, Ethan Ice, Mark Brut, and Mark Levy). Whether you come for one night or make a weekend of it, prepare to be immersed in the communal energy and joyful vibe that Panic Stricken has become famous for.
