The Great South Bay Music Festival is thrilled to announce its return for the 16th Anniversary. The four-day music and arts festival, presented by Voodoo Ranger, will return to the newly revamped and picturesque waterfront at Shorefront Park in Patchogue Village. The festival will take place from Thursday, July 18, through Sunday, July 21, 2024. Tickets are now available for purchase at www.greatsouthbaymusicfestival.com.
The festival will feature over 60 performers on four stages, spanning genres such as classic and contemporary rock, jam, blues, jazz, Americana, ska, reggae, alternative, and funk. Sponsored by Voodoo Ranger, the festival will offer multiple craft beer, wine, and adult beverage tents, an artisan and craft market, and a food court with a diverse gourmet menu of funky and healthy fare. Known for presenting four distinct days of music, the festival boasts an eclectic lineup of headline artists performing alongside cutting-edge rising stars.
Responding to festival fans' requests for more classic rock, GSB 2024 will emphasize "roots and classic rock" more than in recent years.
The festival will kick off on Thursday, July 18, with blues-rock superstar and three-time Grammy nominee Joe Bonamassa. Supporting acts include Poco, Loggins & Messina, and Buffalo Springfield legend Jim Messina. Phenom guitarist Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, who performed at Great South Bay at just 12 years old and has since shared the stage with notable artists, will also appear. Local guitar wizard Kerry Kearney will start the festivities (10 performers on two stages).
Friday's annual rock-reggae-ska party on the water will feature Hawaiian "Kona-Dub-Rockers" Pepper, New Jersey's Streetlight Manifesto, Sublime Tribute: Badfish, Ohio's Tropidelic, and emerging LI hometown reggae-rockers Oogee Wawa (15 performers on 3 stages).
Saturday is Jam Day, featuring Dark Star Orchestra continuing the Grateful Dead Live Concert Experience like no one else, supported by rock pioneers The Disco Biscuits with their brand of "Trancefusion," and more (18 performers on 4 stages).
Great South Bay will close out Sunday’s Main Stage with the legendary YES, featuring Jon Anderson performing YES “Epics & Classics.” Justin Hayward, the legendary guitarist and “Voice of the Moody Blues,” will support, along with Jethro Tull guitarist Martin Barre, and Talking Heads Tribute: Start Making Sense (19 performers on 4 stages).
For children and adults alike, Great South Bay will present a full schedule of fun educational performances all day Saturday and Sunday, with kids under 10 admitted free.
Supporting and presenting original emerging artists has always been part of our mission at GSB. For 2024, the festival is pleased to present over 30 talented original artists we are excited to showcase to our music-loving attendees.
Great South Bay is a proud part of our Long Island community and is committed to supporting our less fortunate brothers and sisters. A percentage from every ticket sold will be donated to the GSB-Stony Brook Cancer Center Fund. To date, the festival has raised well over a quarter of a million dollars for the cancer center. Booth spaces in our “Storyville Tent” will again be donated to local organizations looking to raise awareness and funds for their causes.
