The rivers are full. The leaves are green. The sun is working hard to make each day longer. The only thing missing? Grey Fox! The premiere bluegrass festival of the summer is returning to The Walsh Farm in the sleepy Catskill town of Oak Hill, NY this July 19th through the 22nd. This year’s lineup will help any jamband fan to recognize our scene’s roots in bluegrass. Moguls like The Del McCoury Band, Sam Bush Band, Hot Rize (40th Anniversary Celebration), Red Knuckles & The Trailblazers, and The Peter Rowan Band are the very players who influenced and played along side the founders of jam music.
Add to that Artist-in-Residence Billy Strings, The Wood Brothers, Della Mae, Flatt Lonesome and The Lonely Heartstring Band and you’ll truly see where the bluegrass scene is moving in the 21st century with some of its strongest and most-well known innovative up-and-comers. But there is morel. Over four days, 40 bands will play Grey Fox’s 6 stages, sit down for artist workshops and help out at the famed (and free!) Bluegrass Academy for Kids. And music’s not all that sets Grey Fox apart. The Kids tent will be full of activities for the whole family, free yoga and meditation will be offered throughout the weekend to keep you refreshed and balanced, the food selection is varied to satisfy all of your cravings. Grey Fox has it all. Well, almost. The only thing missing? You. Check out www.greyfoxbluegrass.com or like the festival on Facebook for more information.
