Today, we are excited to premiere “Kind of Like It”  the bouncy vibrant new single from award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter, David Myles. The track comes from his 12th album, Leave Tonight. The full player will be available everywhere on May 8th.

The troubadour reveals a surprising influence on “Kind of Like It.”  David said "I was listening to tons of The Dead when I wrote this one.  The thing I love most about the Grateful Dead is that sense of fun in their music.  They are exploring the great sounds of American music together in a joyful way with their audience. That’s so special. And when I feel that I’m taking everything too seriously, I throw on some Dead and it reminds of how fun it is to just write songs and make music to play with your friends.  I want to embody that in what I do as well. This was a blast to record and features some wild electric bass playing from Kyle and Al killing the country guitar licks. Looking forward to ripping this one live too.”

David Myles is considered something of an undercover musicologist. Within his eclectic artistic continuum, he’s explored jazz, blues, pop, holiday music, French pop, rockabilly, country, folk, gospel, and even hip-hop with noted success. “Inner Ninja,” his collaboration with the rapper Classified is one of the biggest-selling rap singles in the history of Canadian music.

Leave Tonight was produced by James Bunton and features longtime touring and recording bandmates Kyle Cunjak (upright bass, electric bass) and Alan Jeffries (acoustic and electric guitars). The trio have been friends since high school and have worked together for over a decade. Rounding out the sessions was percussionist Joshua Van Tassel who has played on many of David’s previous records.

“Kinda Like It,” we’re pretty sure you will.
