ACM Male Vocalist of the Year Jason Aldean is approaching one of the biggest moments in his career tomorrow as he is set to play for more than 60,000 fans at the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium. Aldean is already in Athens preparing for the first show to ever be held there. Tickets for this 2013 NIGHT TRAIN TOUR stop sold out in less than an hour last October.49 trucks and 27 buses have taken over Sanford Stadium in preparation for the historic event “between the hedges.” Aldean’s crew has been in Athens for four days building one of the biggest outdoor stages in the nation and hanging hundreds of lights, speakers, cameras and high resolution video panels connected with over 3 miles of cable to bring one of the biggest events in country music this year to life. The show will include over 600 staff, pyrotechnics and a helicopter flyover. Fellow Georgians Luke Bryan and Thomas Rhett are also on the bill, along with current tour mate and Florida native Jake Owen.“It’s been a long road from playing for 10 people just down the street in Macon, GA where I grew up to headlining the stadium of my favorite football team,” said Aldean. “But I feel like that whole road was leading me to this place, at this moment. I was born a Bulldog fan, and I have so many great memories at Sanford through the years. I've been working my whole career to get my live show to this level and I can’t imagine a better place to kick off the stadium shows we're doing this summer. We're about to take tailgating to another level!"Additionally, Aldean was named Male Vocalist of the Year at Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. He also took home the trophy for Vocal Event of the Year for his No. one song "The Only Way I Know" feat. Luke Bryan and Eric Church, marking his second consecutive win in that category. The third single off his PLATINUM album NIGHT TRAIN, "1994," is currently racing up the Top 20. "1994" comes on the heels of seven consecutive No. one singles and eleven career chart-toppers. The 2013 NIGHT TRAIN TOUR has sold out every show so far this year, including Aldean's Madison Square Garden debut in Feb. that sold out in seven minutes. Other stadium stops include Boston’s Fenway Park (7/12 and 7/13) and Chicago’s Wrigley Field (7/20). For more information, visit www.jasonaldean.com.
