Today, multi-platinum singer-songwriter and mental health pioneer Jewel announced her new EP, The Portal: A Meditative Journey, the musical extension of her immersive art experience The Portal: An Art Experience by Jewel, which is now open to the public through July 28 at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas. The Portal: A Meditative Journey is due out July 12 and will bring the songs and soundscapes featured throughout the exhibit to listeners all over the world. The tracklisting features guided meditations that inspire reflection and release, as well as a brand new single, “Goddess Of Love,” and the title track “The Portal.”
Today, she unveiled the lead single, “The Portal,” a 10-minute meditative track, infused with catchy pop melodies, that offers an invitation to step back and breathe. “Take the weight off,” Jewel soothes. “Undress yourself of your name… slip out of the iron skin of daily tasks, the tightrope of worry and wondering why. Set down your memories, if even for a moment. Just be here.” “The Portal” is the soundtrack to Jewel’s 200-piece choreographed drone show currently at Crystal Bridges Museum of Art. The single artwork features an original painting by Jewel. You can listen to the single HERE.
The lead single “The Portal” is also available on vinyl today via Jewel’s online store. Order HERE.
Known for her three-decades long, award-winning music career and mental health advocacy work, Jewel has officially made her mark on the visual arts world with The Portal: An Art Experience By Jewel. The Portal explores the intersection of music, mental health, technology, and art, and features a new painting and sculpture by Jewel. Artnet called the experience “accessible immersion into art therapy,” while People Magazine noted that “the exhibit unearthed my feelings and paved the way to begin the path towards reconciling the anger, insecurity and worry I've long held inside.” The Portal is open now to the public through July 28.
