On the heels of a dynamic performance at the band’s successful self-produced, socially distant Labor Day weekend event The Company Picnic, Charlottesville’s genre-defying onslaught Kendall Street Company is proud to announce the release of their newest single “Go On” - out now! The fresh tune, which reflects on the struggles of social temptations and self-care, will officially appear on the quintet's forthcoming album The Stories We Write For Ourselves to be released on October 23rd, 2020. Listen to “Go On” HERE
Rising out of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia in 2017, Kendall Street Company has maintained a central presence on the East Coast, performing over 120 shows per year at music festivals such as Lockn' Music Festival, FloydFest, Rooster Walk, Resonance Music Festival, The FESTY Experience, and many more as well as at music venues alongside artists such as Moon Taxi, TAUK, Perpetual Groove, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Papadosio, Dark Star Orchestra, and Leftover Salmon.
Over the years, Kendall Street Company has explored a diverse range of genres and styles including elements of jam, folk, jazz, funk, and psychedelic rock. However, on the upcoming fifth studio album, The Stories We Write For Ourselves, the band offers a softer, dreamier sound, demonstrating their more serious approach to songwriting. “Go On” - written by the band’s vocalist Louis Smith, opens as an acoustic number as Smith begins to recall the details of a night out, but quickly builds and turns into a funky jam. “Go On”, now available on all major streaming services, is a just taste of what The Stories We Write For Ourselves has to offer.
