Magpie Salute Gear Up For Debut US Tour
Coming off eight European dates earlier this month--a mix of headline shows and festival appearances--THE MAGPIE SALUTE will launch their much-anticipated first-ever U.S. concert tour July 26 in Indianapolis. The extensive summer-into-fall outing with 59 shows including two-night engagements in Chicago (Metro), San Francisco (The Fillmore) and New York City (Irving Plaza) and festivals before wrapping November 17 in Atlantic City. Look for the 10-piece band to perform shows with set lists that will vary from show to show to keep the music completely fresh and unpredictable. See below for the full list of tour dates.
THE MAGPIE SALUTE brings together the reunited guitar team of Rich Robinson and Marc Ford from the Black Crowes and bassist Sven Pipien (also from the Crowes) with other dynamic musicians and co-ed singers from around the world. They're currently making their presence felt with their Robinson-produced self-titled debut album (released June 9 via Eagle Rock Entertainment) that's highlighted by the deeply soulful and rocking single "Omission" (which hit #2 on the "A" playlist of Planet Rock, the UK's #1 rock radio station). Click here to see the song's striking Matthew Sterling-directed video that was filmed in London back in April when THE MAGPIE SALUTE was there to perform four roof-raising shows at the Under The Bridge venue.
THE MAGPIE SALUTE features musicians who've played together for decades throughout various projects and share a truly deep musical bond. Joining Robinson, Ford and Pipien in the bandare drummer Joe Magistro andguitarist Nico Bereciartua plus new keyboardist Michael Bellar. The group also boasts a fine cast of vocalists, including Robinson, Ford, lead singer John Hogg (Hookah Brown, Moke), former Crowes singer Charity White and background singers Adrien Reju and Katrine Ottosen. Notably, THE MAGPIE SALUTE is a truly international band. London's John Hogg is of Swedish/African heritage, Sven Pipien is German, Nico Bereciartua is an Argentinean citizen and Kat Ottosen is a Danish citizen who partly lives in Copenhagen.
