Music Factory Records is proud to announce the release of "Praysue," a groundbreaking composition by acclaimed guitarist and composer Ari Joshua. This evocative piece, featuring the legendary talents of Billy Martin on drums, John Medeski on electric organ, and Jason Fraticelli on upright bass, is a transcendent journey through memory, place, and emotion.

"Praysue" is a rich tapestry of sound, where classical motifs meet the improvisational spirit of jazz. Inspired by Joshua’s late grandfather and the historic town of Przysucha, the composition weaves a cinematic narrative that transports listeners through time and space. The piece is anchored by a classical sensibility, yet reimagined through a contemporary lens, with orchestral strings intertwining with vintage magnetic tape-driven keyboards and organs. The result is a sonic landscape that is both familiar and ethereal, a reflection of the past imbued with the vibrancy of the present.

The rhythmic foundation of "Praysue" is laid by the formidable Billy Martin, whose drumming adds layers of depth and complexity. John Medeski’s keyboard artistry brings a kaleidoscope of colors and textures, elevating the composition to new heights. Recorded at the legendary Applehead Studio in Woodstock, New York, the track captures the essence of a bygone era of meticulous musical craftsmanship. The artwork by Mark Henson, described as "into the light, winged beings fly to the source," perfectly complements the ethereal quality of the music.

The interplay between guitar and orchestral elements creates a dialogue that is both intimate and expansive. "Praysue" is a testament to music’s enduring power to evoke deep emotions and transport listeners to distant realms of imagination.

Joshua’s collaborations with Medeski and Martin have previously yielded five key releases, showcasing a diverse range of soundscapes. "Praysue" adds another chapter to this ongoing musical journey, with its contemplative, yet uplifting, melodies.

Quote from Ari Joshua: "Praysue is one of those songs that came like a prayer in the wind. I wrote it as part of this batch of songs for John and Billy, but it came after thinking about music I imagine our ancestors would sing when they wanted to connect to the source. It’s not a sad song; it's a minor key, but it is a song for peace."
