MusiCares Honors Grateful Dead as 2025 Persons of the Year

MusiCares is thrilled to announce the Grateful Dead as the 2025 Persons of the Year, honoring the legendary band on their monumental 60th anniversary. This recognition celebrates the immense musical and philanthropic contributions of original members Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh, and Bobby Weir. The evening will also feature heartfelt posthumous tributes to the beloved Jerry Garcia.

The 34th annual #PersonsoftheYear benefit gala will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on January 31, 2025. As part of the Official GRAMMY Week Event, the gala aims to raise significant funds to support MusiCares, music’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing vital assistance to musicians in need.

Proceeds from the gala will directly benefit MusiCares’ programs, ensuring that musicians facing financial hardships receive the support they need.
