Knoxville's iconic venue, the Bijou Theatre, hosted an exceptional performance last Wednesday night by the renowned jam-centric band Spafford. Fans were treated to a special rendition of "West L.A. Fadeaway" by the Grateful Dead, marking the first time the song was played with their new keyboardist, Cory Schechtman, after a hiatus of one hundred and thirteen shows. Spafford was joined by guest vocalist and opener Ross "Rossdafareye" Heatherly for this memorable cover.

The evening began with the lively "Fünkenseven," an all-instrumental original known for its odd-yet-danceable meter and infectious synth-infused vibes. The tune was first introduced to the Spafford repertoire in Tennessee in the Fall of 2019 at Nashville's The Basement East, which was also later home to Spafford's recent streaming release "Live in Nashville".
