Acclaimed instrumental electronic rock band STS9--hailed as “one of the country’s most intriguing, innovative outfits around”--is pumped up and ready to hit the ground running this fall on their “Autumn Tour 2014.” This will mark the band’s first official headlining run in over a year

Hot off their two-night sold-out run at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado earlier this month, the group--Hunter Brown (guitar/sequences), Jeffree Lerner (percussion), David Phipps (keyboards/synths), Zach Velmer (drums) and Alana Rocklin (bass)--will be supported on select dates by Grammy-winning producers J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League.

The 25-date tour will kick off October 9 at the Egyptian Room in Indianapolis and then make its way east stopping in Pittsburgh, Detroit, Grand Rapids and Portland before hitting New York City on Friday, October 17 at the Best Buy Theater. From there, the tour heads to Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, DC, Richmond, Knoxville, Chattanooga and Nashville. As the birthplace of STS9 over 15 years ago, the group will perform back-to-back nights in Atlanta on November 1 and 2 at The Tabernacle and then stop in Fayetteville, Tulsa, Dallas and Austin before wrapping up in California with performances at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on Friday, November 21 and Oakland’s Fox Theater on Saturday, November 22. See below for the full list of tour dates.

In December, STS9 will be joining friends Umphrey’s McGee and the Disco Biscuits for Dominican Holidaze December 3-7 at the Breathless Resort & Spa in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. This event is sold-out.

The band will then close out 2014 and ring in 2015 with three nights at the legendary Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, CO on December 31, January 2 and 3, 2015.  Tickets go on-sale Wednesday, October 1 exclusively at http://sts9store.com.

This year, fans are being treated to STS9’s largest touring production rig ever. Using the latest cutting-edge sound and lighting, the band is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to delivering one of the most visually stunning shows on the road today. Throughout their many critically acclaimed festival appearances this year, including CounterPoint, Hangout, Wakarusa, Electric Forest, The Hudson Project and North Coast, STS9--dubbed “the masters of improvisational, brain-altering hydro-funk” by David Garber with Vice’s Thump (7/1/14)--has also debuted a number of new tracks in 2014 including “World Go Round,” “New Dawn, New Day,” “Totem,” “Click Lang Echo,” and “Only Light Remains,” that are sure to appear on set-lists throughout the fall tour. See what the critics have said about STS9 from their 2014 festival appearances:

“One of the headliners [at The Hudson Project] was STS9, short for Sound Tribe Sector 9, which pumped its way through its own history of instrumental dance music, segueing in and out of rock, various eras of funk and the insistent, unsyncopated beats of current dance music.”–Jon Pareles, NEW YORK TIMES, 7/12/14

“STS9 dazzled the audience.  It was jazz. It was funk. It was electronica. It was sexy. It was groovy. It was raging. It was Tribe.”—Joe Lamendola, INYOURSPEAKERS.COM, 7/15/14

“It’s easy to have stage presence when you’re the headliner, but STS9 still played like they had something to prove…The crowd reveled in STS9’s past and seemed ready to embrace their future.”–Jason Keil, PHOENIX NEW TIMES, 3/29/14

“I would describe the show by STS9 as bewildering and massive. The sound slammed into us, sending ripples through the sea of people. The bass drops were perfection and it was an absolutely amazing and beautiful performance. Total synchronicity at its best.”–Tim Stanback, QROMAG.COM, 5/5/14

“…A show that was nothing short of spectacular…a non-stop rocking beacon during their twilight set.”--Marisa Frydman, LIVEFORLIVEMUSIC.COM, 7/1714
