Tyler Ramsey has announced a follow-up Deluxe Edition of his fifth studio album, New Lost Ages, via Soundly Music, due out on October 18. The Deluxe Edition will feature two previously unreleased B-sides, including today’s release, “Song Out of My Head,” and “Paper Hearts,” which will be released on October 18.

New Lost Ages was recorded at the legendary Avast! Recording Co. in Seattle, Washington, with storied producer Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty, Built to Spill). The LP is an ongoing sonic quest—meticulously wandering across the musical landscape, blending indie, rock, and folk stylings. The album explores peeling back the layers of oneself, locating and opening up the dusty boxes of your past hidden in the back of the closet of your mind. It’s about memories and mistakes, lessons and lifelines, bringing the present moment into focus with a future bright with possibility and purpose, so long as you never forget the road that led you to the here and now.

“‘Song Out of My Head’ is a study of recurring thoughts—memories, images, or maybe regrets that keep you up in the middle of the night. At the same time, it’s a search for hope.”

Since releasing New Lost Ages this past February, Tyler has kept busy with a U.S. headline tour, opening for The Secret Sisters and The White Buffalo, and teaching songwriting classes during Contemporary Folk Week at the Swannanoa Gathering. This September, Ramsey and his band will support The Airborne Toxic Event on 18 U.S. dates, including stops at Warsaw in Brooklyn, Webster Hall in NYC, and The Fillmore in Philadelphia. A European headlining tour will follow, starting in late October, with a stop at The Waiting Room in London on November 15. He will also perform at Take Root Festival in The Netherlands and support Lissie on six sold-out shows across the UK.

Additionally, Ramsey recently announced his collaboration with the Asheville Contemporary Dance Theatre on Shiver in the Pines—a dance musical drama featuring original Tyler Ramsey guitar instrumentals and adaptations of traditional tunes accompanying new modern dance choreography by the Asheville Contemporary Dance Theatre.

Shiver in the Pines is set to take place on October 18 and 19 at the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts.
