Old Town School of Folk
Surrounded by a variety of different styles of banjo's, Fleck played each type with a brief introduction explaining their significance. One he purchased from Earl Scruggs estate, complete with an inlay signature. While the most notable instrument was the cello-banjo that had a deep baritone resonance that complimented Abigail's intricate picking. 24 months pregnant with their second child, Abigail showed no signs of slowing down. The humor being that the child she is carrying is subject to a lot of banjo music. No pressure to be come a player, but it sure would make mom and dad proud.
While this night was a traditional evening of banjo playing, word is out that his new grass revival group, Béla Fleck and The Flecktones with be on tour this summer. Dates to be announced.
