Buddy Guys Legends
Buddy's protege Quinn Sullivan was on the bill. Unannounced special guest Earl Slick (Bowie's guitarist) jumped on stage and Buddy was joined later with both Susan and Derek. This was a historic night of blues at Buddy Guy’s Legends. Quinn’s band was essentially Buddy’s band but with Tom Hambridge playing drums. Marty Sammon’s incendiary keyboards propelled Quinn’s explosive guitar through the roof.
Buddy played “She’s Only 19 Years Old” with Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks teasing them throughout the song about their age difference. Derek and Buddy traded licks to the delight of the crowd and Susan played Buddy’s guitar while standing behind him. The sold out house was esstactic.
