This Grammy™ ̶ nominated big band has been recording and performing in major jazz performance spaces and universities around the United States since 2000.

For an all-too-brief, magical time in 1957, two of the greatest musicians in history, Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane performed together every night at New York's Five Spot Cafe and between April and July of that year, they made their only studio recordings together.

Concord Music Group will reissue a remastered and expanded edition of John Coltrane’s Afro Blue Impressions album on August 20, 2013.
