The final day of the 2019 Ohana Music Festival greeted a large sold-out crowd with hot sunny beach weather and a stunningly diverse musical line up. October came quickly this year, and with it so did ACL Music Festival. There’s something special about the first of the two-weekend music festival.  It was hot. It was sweaty. It was exhausting. But that is to be expected. We, the people, prevailed. Fun was had, regardless of weather by tourists and locals alike.

Large crowds gathered early on Friday, September, 27th for the opening day of the fourth annual Ohana Music Festival. The brainchild of Eddie Vedder, the event is a carefully choreographed music and arts festival with a strong environmental message. The concert grounds and bleachers overlook the historic Doheny surfing break, which may be one of the most tranquil surfing breaks in the world.

They delighted the crowd with old-timey songs like “Shortening Bread” And once again, all the audience was dancing and swirling in the morning sunshine.

These guys & gals were the real deal, and looked straight out of the movie: “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?”

Last weekend, on the mystical Garden Island of Kaua’i, something very special happened: the community was brought together through the power of Folk Music.

From Hawaiians to Hippies, traditional old-timey Appalachian Bluegrass to legendary Blues Singers, everyone was stomping their bare feet at the best festival venue we have ever had on our island: the historical plantation of Grove Farm.
