Davy Knowles

Davy Knowles and his previous band ‘Back Door Slam’ have garnered rave reviews, national television appearances (Jimmy Kimmel Live, Good Morning America), extensive triple-A radio airplay, and four top 5 Billboard Blues charting albums. As an in-demand blues man, he has appeared with The Who, Jeff Beck, Gov’t Mule, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joe Bonamassa, Sonny Landreth, and Joe Satriani among many others.

Roots singer-songwriter and guitarist Davy Knowles has just released a lyric video for “Roll Me,” the second single off his Provogue debut, ‘What Happens Next,’ out October 22nd. “Roll Me is a song that my producer Eric Corne had written and brought to me,” Knowles recalls. “I as soon as I heard it, I related to it and knew I wanted to record it. It’s a song about loss, something we have both had our fair share of experience with.

On his aptly-titled Provogue Records’ debut, ‘What Happens Next,’ out October 22nd, roots singer-songwriter and guitarist Davy Knowles boldly steps forward with timeless and cohesive songwriting; sleek modern production; and a lyrical, play-for-the-song guitar approach informed from soul, folk, rock, and blues. The 12-song album is just as influenced by The Black Keys, Fantastic Negrito, Gary Clark Jr., as it is Muddy Waters, Junior Kimbrough, and R.L. Burnside.

Is this guy for real!  I only ask such a silly question because this talented Davy Knowles is ripping some nasty good blues that threaten to blow your head off. This sexy young Brit was at Stubb’s in Austin for his national tour with the Back Door Slam, December 6th.  Following the release of their new album, Coming Up For Air, and sporting some brand new band members, Davy Knowles and the Back Door Slam are back.
