Music-fan tribes of all stripes gathered for the Independence Day weekend to luxuriate in the 29th annual High Sierra Music Festival in tiny Quincy, California, basking in the music, vibes, joy, and friendships old and new. Over the four-day celebration, among the beautiful clear-aired mountainous sky and mountains, fun oozed everywhere, from the scheduled and numerous unscheduled live performances and collaborations to the often luxurious and nicely appointed home bases set up in the campgrounds.

As attendees began to make their way from the parking lot into Red Rocks Amphitheatre for the night, there was an excelled energy running throughout the air. Loyal fans and newcomers were highly anticipating the night full of instrumental jams and pure funk.

Innovative Giving Enhancement (IGE) today announces the artist collective for the fifth annual Music and Art Immersion program happening in Lisbon, Portugal October 4-13, 2019.  Participants experience ten days and nine nights of concerts, jams and the many international musical collaborations at the heart of the Immersive experience.

They are excited to share some incredible additions to the lineup including Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Southern Avenue, and Pixie and the Partygrass Boys! LoS has already announced that they will be joined by special guests The High Country Horns, featuring Skerik, Natalie Cressman, and Jennifer Hartswick and will be announcing further additions in the new year.

On a very warm, sun-splashed Memorial Day in San Rafael, California, ALO and some of their musical friends performed outdoors at Terrapin Crossroads back yard area, aka Beach Park. Two full afternoon sets of their unique brand songs and ingenious and technically proficient jamming included extended guest spots by Trey Anastasio Band (and more) horn players Natalie Cressman (trombone) and Jennifer Hartswick (trumpet). Hartswick not only played but sang Blondie’s “Rapture,” as well as fine harmonies on “Shakedown Street.”

Ardmore Music Hall will host a massive 2-night fundraiser and concert event on June 8th and 9th with iconic social activist and “official clown” of the Grateful Dead, Wavy Gravy, as the guest of honor and a star studded lineup of musicians to celebrate the music of the Grateful Dead and much more. Unlimited Devotion: A Rex Foundation fundraiser will include performances by Steve Kimock, Eric Krasno, John Kadlecik, Jeff Austin, Tom Hamilton, Holly Bowling and many more.

In the improvisational spirit of the musical community that surrounds the building at 23 East Lancaster Avenue, the Ardmore Music Hall presents “Everyone Loves Ardmore” featuring two nights of Everyone Orchestra on December 8 & 9.

If you happened to be walking around Williamsburg in the late September weekend, taking in the unseasonably warm weather or grabbing a bite to eat, things would have seemed like any other weekend. Maybe you noticed the matching wristbands of the people walking back and forth along Wythe Avenue, or you saw the groups of people hanging around smoking cigarettes outside a few music venues from early afternoon until late into the night, but nothing that struck you as particularly noteworthy.

Still in her early twenties, there’s a sophisticated elegance that radiates around singer, songwriter and brass connoisseur Natalie Cressman. This rare aura can be felt not only through her demanding stage presence, or incredibly complex and layered compositions, but also through her kind, gentle tone and easy-going demeanor.
