Shred is Dead

Blazing musical trails with a mix of progressive rock, jazz and jam rock while remaining authentic to his style is what adept guitar journeyman Marcus Rezak does best. He released a new album in 2021 with three members of the Trey Anastasio Band, Truth in Sound, and made the recording at Anastasio's Barn in Vermont.

Denver-based guitar virtuoso Marcus Rezak has announced tour dates for winter 2022 in continued support of his latest EP ‘Truth in Sound’ which includes a variety of configurations with his original project, his high-octane Grateful Dead tribute project Shred is Dead, and an assortment of artist-at-large engagements and one-off lineups.

The 5 Points Music Sanctuary concert series in Roanoke, Virginia are in full swing and celebrate freedom and freekdom with two powerful concerts on July 4th weekend. The national and regional musical performance acts for Friday July 2 and Saturday July 3 are The Dead Reckoning, Sol Roots, Freekbass, and Shred is Dead.

Marcus Rezak kicked off his Truth of Sound Tour with a bang at Cafe Wha?, nestled in New York City’s West Village last Sunday, with his band, Shred is Dead. The tour is promoting Rezak’s latest album, Truth of Sound, featuring several members of the Trey Anastasio Band, including the late Tony Markelis. The group collectively delivered inspiring progressive instrumentals and vocals of the Grateful Dead as well as new Truth in Sound tunes.

A magician and endless beacon of improvisational talent, Marcus Rezek is far from your average guitarist. If he’s not on tour with one of his numerous bands like Shred is Dead, he’s probably sitting in at your local music festival or concocting his next move to unleash his exceptional multi-layered sounds into the musical universe.

Marcus Rezak has released his sophomore album ‘Truth in Sound,’ a virtuosic guitar-driven excursion through the realms of rock, progressive, jam, and groove-oriented music featuring Russ Lawton, Tony Markellis, and Ray Paczkowski of Trey Anastasio Band along with Kalyan Pathak on tabla and percussion.

Virtuoustic guitarist Marcus Rezak has announced the release of his upcoming EP ‘Truth in Sound’ coming out on April 22, 2021 distributed via Color Red. The follow-up record to his 2018 solo debut Gateway to the Galaxy features drummer Russ Lawton, bassist Tony Markellis, and keyboardist Ray Paczkowski of Trey Anastasio Band alongside master tabla player Kaylan Pathak.
